Congratulations to this week’s AG Flickr group member Kym Bradley, for her image Silveryeye In the Blackberries.

Says Kym, a self-taught photographer from Canberra, ACT:

“On a grey and wet Wednesday in January 2015, I thought the best place to be out of the weather would be in one of the bird hides at Jerrabomberra Wetlands in the ACT, as it is a haven for all types of birds, turtles, kangaroos etc in a free and natural environment.

Outside the window of a hide was a blackberry bush in full fruit and many small birds were feeding off it, including this silvereye (Zosterops lateralis).

I decided to try my 7d Mark 2 with a 300 f4 prime lens and  1.4 Telecoverter  to see how it performed as the light was very poor, to my surprise in manual mode ISO 500  F.6  1/500 the shot was achieved with NO flash.”
