Australian Geographic joined researchers at the Great Barrier Reef to witness the dance of the local manta rays.

The largest population of these intelligent creatures inhabits the waters off the east coast of Australia. For the first time, scientists are conducting a census of the population to learn more about the species, including its behaviour, breeding and ecology.
