David explores Lamington National Park, spotting plenty of exciting wildlife
The ancient forests of Lamington National Park, which this year celebrates 100 years of conservation, are moss covered and majestic. David looks beyond the beautiful flora however and handles some very rare electric blue yabbies. This crayfish, known as the Lamington Crayfish, is endemic to the area, living only in the Lamington plateau.
Making some slightly less nippy friends, David gets an intimate window into the life of the parks smallest birds. Lamington National Park is home to a vast variety of birds such as the Coxen’s Fig Parrot, Albert’s Lyrebird and Eastern Bristlebird. Many of these birds are rare or threatened.
