Lower Lilydale Falls, Lilydale, Tasmania

This week’s reader photo was taken by Matthew at Lilydale Falls in Tasmania.

The falls cascade through old growth forest just outside of Lilydale in Tasmania’s north east. A fallen tree rooted to the top of the lower falls and almost as large as the lower drop lies against the moss-covered face of the falls, looking much like a support truss for the rock.

The falls consist of two small waterfalls, both reachable by a very easy stroll from the car park at Lilydale Park.
