Snack time: rainbow bee-eater
28 April 2017
These striking, colourful birds are widespread throughout mainland Australia.
Congratulations to Matt Wright for submitting our latest AG Reader Photo of the Week: a rainbow bee-eaters (Merops ornatus) enjoying its namesake snack – a native bee.
“Rainbow bee-eaters make their way down from northern Australia to breed in spring/summer. I was lucky enough to capture them devouring their favourite meal and their namesake,” says Matt.
