Basking in the winter sun
“This little fella, a freshwater crocodile (Crocodylus johnsoni ), – only about 20cm in length – was out basking on a fallen tree,” says Rachael.
“Being July it seemed odd for him to be a small size at that time of the year, as hatchlings these sizes are normally seen around January. This guy should have been a bit bigger by this stage, but environmental factors may have played a role.”
