Ebor High Country, NSW
This week’s reader photo was taken by Drew at Ebor Falls in the Guy Fawkes River National Park, New South Wales.
Says Drew, a photographer from Coffs Harbour, NSW:
“The mighty Ebor Falls, flowing at full force after a couple of months’ worth of rain. You get a real sense of scale from the base of the falls, which descend 60m over columned basalt rock in two sections. Behind me, roughly 100 meters is the top of the lower Ebor Falls, which is around a 100m plunge into a steep forested gorge below.
I couldn’t have asked for much more, the warm sun on my skin, crisp autumn breeze and the refreshing spray of water from the powerful falls. It’s simply incredible, and easily my favourite waterfall on the Northern Tablelands of New South Wales.
Most people will never experience this perspective because there is no marked pathway to get down to the water. It took me multiple visits before I worked out how to scramble down the cliff face to get this vantage point. The only other people I have seen down below are fishermen fishing for trout”.
